The Carrington Yuletide Milonga
Written by Karen Garnett
Thursday, 26 July 2007

Image For all of you wondering what the Yuletide Milonga at the beautiful Carrington Hotel was like, we can safely say it was a huge success and one of the most beautiful evening's I've attended in my short experience with Tango.

Megan did a fantastic job in organising the event which ran so very smoothly and without a hitch. Thanks also to Nelson who imparted some of his knowledge of Canjengue with us. To learn from someone with such vast experience and passion was truly inspiring. Thankyou from all of us.

Driving up the circular driveway to see the beautifully lit Carrington Hotel in all it's glory, we knew we were going to be in for a treat. Dressed in our 1920's gear complete with beads, headbands and feathers, we were shown into the grand ballroom . It took my breath away and really felt like we were walking back in time. Everybody was beautifully dressed and it gives me goosebumps thinking back at those first few moments. With 6 hours of dancing and very tired but satisfied, we all became cinderellas and retired at midnight. Although parties continued on through the night in at least one house in Katoomba that night.

The music also fitted the theme and the playlist was original and enjoyed by all. Well done again Megan.

Can't wait for the next one.

Karen
ps. we will be uploading photos of the evening shortly, so keep checking.

Dear Tangueros,

Thanks to everyone who came and enjoyed a very pleasant dinner/milonga at the Jacana Restaurant last Wednesday. Both the restaurant and Tango Synergy feel this was a very successful arrangement in getting a great valued milonga and our dancers well fed and energised for a beautiful night of dancing all for the one cover charge.
