I'm sure that mailing list is not complete yet so I need whole list of our members with their email address (Megan, do you have it?) 2) www.tangosynergy.org web site. We already have some info there and our sexy logo (thanks Rachel). Page looks ugly but its only temporary. If i get some free time maybe i will work on it tomorrow. I've just registered for my NZ Tango Festival pass. For me it's free because I helped you in the past; but I gotta say I was blown away by the new website design. It's an object lesson in how to do tango festivals. Also I'm blown away by the programme you have lined up, and as always I'm blown away by the effort you put into making these things get better every year. How you manage to do this baffles me every year, but it just happens anyway. This email is addressed to the Tango Synergy group (the NeoTango crowd) here in Sydney. My confidence in this festival is such that I am prepared to offer the Synergy people an offer: If anyone who recieves this email goes to the NZ Tango Festival and finds that it doesn't live up to the claims made on the website, I will refund the full price of registration from my own pocket. I think that says enough. Cheers ... I have another proposal while we are in North Sydney/Kirribilli. The other day I went to Kirribilli to have fish and chips and take in the view. While doing this I noticed that there is a fab paved area under the north end of the bridge that is absolutely perfect for Tango. We could dance for an hour or two, before crossing the bridge? Ha ha any opportunity - you know me. In future, all spontaneous milongas will need to have 4 people min to commit to turning up, so that when we do advertise, there will always be at least a couple of people to welcome them. This way we won't get a reputation of being unreliable. So let me know if there is anyone else interested in this idea, and I'll make it official on the website. Being part of a mass of happy humans taking over public space can be such an invigorating experience, not to mention a rare chance for cynics like me to enjoy a spot of nostalgia. I'd like to go sometime between 5.30 and the last one at 7.30pm; I'll be in Newcastle during the day for rehearsals so can't go any earlier. We can meet in North Sydney for a drink first. Any other takers? And of course feel free to invite other friends. We do have to register online for a specific time. I'm planning to register by tomorrow afternoon as some time slots are already full, so let me know soon how many to book for. Just a quick reminder that the milonga tonight is on at the Off Broadway Hotel, 1 Bay Street, Broadway. Also there is a decision for us to make re our monthly milonga. In order to help us get going at the Camperdown Dance Studio, they have offered us the first 2 nights at a discount to $100. We should easily reach this amount in door takings at $6 each. We now have to decide which night. The 3rd Friday of the month is available on a permanent basis (but this month it would be the 4th Friday -23rd). Conflicting with Club de Tango - Glebe. Alternatively we can have the 3rd Saturday on a permanent basis (Marrickville - due to its challenging location (but this month it would be the 4th Saturday - 24th) Now that you are members, we need you to help us decide on this night. Majority rules. Please respond with either : Friday night or Saturday night in the Subject line. At this price I reckon we just go ahead with the first two monthly milongas, but we just need to decide our night. Thanks for your help. Librans just can't make decisions like this one. Given that it is a week night and that you begin at 7.30pm we will require that, in the future, the evening's performance finishes by 10pm. This will still give the dancers 2 and a half hours to dance and will keep the residents happier. Thanks for your understanding in this matter. Can you also pass on to your dancers that no alcohol should be consumed in the piazza. Please feel free to ring me if you want to discuss this further.
