Dear Tangueros, 

Thanks to everyone who came and enjoyed a very pleasant dinner/milonga at
the Jacana Restaurant last Wednesday. Both the restaurant and Tango Synergy
feel this was a very successful arrangement in getting a great valued
milonga and our dancers well fed and energised for a beautiful night of
dancing all for the one cover charge.

Wednesday 10 July - 8pm to midnight

This week we're back at Mary's Hotel at 106 George St, Redfern. Cnr of
Redfern & George Street (not George Street in the city)

This venue is fantastic and we're thrilled that the owners are so motivated
about us dancing there. The following is some information about it and I
would highly recommend it as a venue to hire for your next event:

$25million upgrade of Redfern. There is parking at the door, and the area is
brightly lit.

Yuletide Milonga at The Carrington Hotel, Katoomba

Be quick to book your place at Tango Synergy's Yuletide Milonga on 21st July
at the beautiful Carrington Hotel in the Blue Mountains. What a wonderful
opportunity for us all to get away for the weekend and enjoy our Tango and
ambiance of traditional tango in 1920's dress theme in a grand ballroom. 

We have more than 40 committed Tango dancers and we're sure this number will
grow. It is essential that we get an understanding of the numbers due to
catering on the night, so please let us know as soon as possible if you are

Additionally to make it even more special our dear friend and member, Nelson
Martirena has offered to give us a Canyengue lesson during the afternoon
prior to the milonga. This opportunity will be free to all our guests coming
to the milonga.

We will have car pooling available, so contact either Megan Currie at

are driving and have space please let us know.

Fundraising Events

Tango Synergy's values are in supporting the tango community and we are
therefore proud to support to Fundraising events that are also happening in
July.

On Friday 27 July a fundraiser has been organized to help fund the 2008
Australian Tango Championships. It will be at the Glebe Town Hall and is
supported by a group of Sydney tango schools and should be a great night
with shows, taxi dancing, and raffle draw (including ticket to BA!).

On Saturday 28 July La Cumparsita have organized a fundraiser where proceeds
to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. The evening will include:

*         $5.00 raffle 

*         Performances by Sydney’s tango teachers

*         Performance by Latin Motion

*         Guest DJs

*         Tea/Coffee and Argentine sweets

Volunteers wanted

In order for Tango Synergy to be an ongoing success, we’re looking for any
tango dancers who are willing to do anything. There are some benefits to
volunteering – we promise.

We’re looking for DJ’s mainly (bring 1 tanda or an evening of tandas).
People who can be at a venue at the start of the night or end of the night,
to ensure things get kicked off on time. Also little things like putting
glasses on the bar at the end of the night, to ensure we’re welcome back
again.

This is your opportunity to make a difference and feel like you are
contributing to something really positive. Please talk to us.
