Bundanoon Tango Weekend Retreat, 24-25 November – now we have Workshops by
Damian

I’m really thrilled to advise you that the infamous Damian Thompson has
offered to run two workshops prior to the practica on the Bundanoon weekend,
at the absolute discounted rate of $12 each. Both workshops will be run just
prior to the Practica which will give you some time to practice also. Damian
has just returned from 2 months of solid dancing and learning in Buenos
Aires with famous teachers including Gustavo Naviera, Chicho, Roberto
Herrera, Fabrizio just to name a few. Join me for this fabulous opportunity
to get some great lessons from a teacher who not only explains things well,
but will ensure you have fun in the process. I’ve added a blurb of an email
I recently received from him.

Word is fast getting out about this fabulous weekend away in the Southern
Highlands. Places are starting to fill and we have now confirmed 65
tangueros who will be joining us on this Tango Getaway. People have
registered from Brisbane & Melbourne.

The BASH Buenos Aires in the Southern Highlands will be held in Bundanoon,
just 2 hours by car from Canberra and Sydney and is right on the train line.
Bundanoon is a veritable haven of Devonshire teas, rainforest walks, glow
worm caves and B&Bs. But even more importantly, on the weekend of Saturday
24 – Sunday 25 November it will be the site for our very first collaborative
Tango Weekend Retreat!

BASH is being co-presented by Tango Synergy (Sydney) and the Tango Social
Club of Canberra. So, it will be a great weekend for networking, and dancing
with your favourite Sydney dancers as well as making new tanguero amigos
(and tanguera amigas) from Canberra!

BASH will include a Saturday afternoon practica, the big Saturday night
milonga and a Sunday recovery practica. And what’s more, all 3 events will
cost $15 for members and $20 for non-members! Accommodation is available at
as little as $40 per person.

Wednesday night Practica this week at Mr Marys

Have you been to this wonderful venue? Word’s starting to get out about the

This practica is $5 or free if members purchase dinner.

Well

G'day all - I just finished teaching my first lesson in Buenos Aires by
request to a group class of intermediate and advanced students by a
professional teacher here in Buenos Aires.  What a great night we had

- I taught combinations of sacada's and giro's and just had a ball!

Also, I taught some very basic things too :-))

The students were very appreciative of my explanations and reasoning as to
how the combinations worked and why - then showing all the options with some
colgada's as well.  Anyway, you guys are the ones that I wanted to share
this information with - it has been exciting for me here in BsAs and I
really don't want to come home, but I am looking forward to coming home!

I will be back on the 20th to leave again on the 22nd for Sydney as Jules
and I have been asked to teach at a Tango Retreat on that weekend and then
will see most of you the week after that!

Hope all is well in the land of roo's and koala's, looking forward to
hitting the frog and toad with many of you and sharing a vino or two over
your memories of this town and some photo's or videos of my memories.  I am
also really excited about sharing and teaching what I have learnt, but as
most of you know (and have known for a while), Brisbane is still not ready
for the majority of what you learn here.

For those interested, I will be very willing to run a series of advanced
classes for the Gustavo workshops and Chicho workshops (of which I have
recorded all of them) so that we may all improve together.  I will have to
organise time with Wellers Hill for those interested...
